Bishop Macedo answers - How can I forgive?
Question:
Bishop, my name is Danny and I would like to ask you for some advice. I met a person, a while back, who hurt me very much. He did terrible things to me and ultimately betrayed my trust. Since then, I’ve carried this pain with me and I know this isn’t the right thing to do. I do not want to lose my salvation but I’m not able to forgive him. Please help me. What should I do?

Answer:
Danny, one of the most helpful ways to forgive someone is to pray for them. The pain you are feeling has no effect on this young man, only on yourself. You are only feeding the feeling that’s inside you. In the end, you are the only one who’s going to suffer!

I TELL YOU DANNY I’VE GOT THE SAME PROBLEM, A FRIEND OF MINE WAS HAVING PROBLEMS IN HIS HOUSE SO I LET HIM STAY AT MINE WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND AND BABY, AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS HE DISRESPECTED MY SISTER AND THEY DO THINGS ON A DAILY BASIS TO ANNOY US. I DO PRAY FOR THEM BUT ITS HARD TO TALK TO THEM AS I FEEL THE WAY YOU DO. AND BECAUSE OF THAT I AM WORRIED ABOUT GETTING BAPTISED. I SAY I FORGIVE THEM IN MY HEART BUT I FIND IT HARD TO SPEAK TO THEM.

Forgiveness helps the forgiver more because the offender most of the time has nothing to lose. I am concerned that a man who is supposed to be baptised now cannot because he is unable to forgive ( Rayan) who share the same problem with Danny. Gentlemen remember that Jesus Christ forgave everyone including those who tortured , maimed and murdered him on the cross for us to learn that whatever we go through we always need to forgive because our fight is not against blood and flesh but it is spiritual. We need to have people to move on and be baptised in water (repentance) as well as the holy spirit and be born of God. Time is not on our side.

Forgiveness = Strength
It takes a real strong person to forgive another person who’s in the wrong!

Forgiveness is not an easy thing to do but when you listen to what is required of you as a person to do, you have to obey. I remember after few weeks in the church differenr pastors talked about forgiveness, it was hard at first but at the end I was alone in my bed room and thought about these messages and I said to myself I have to obey and I asked God to help me. On the following day at work I met one of the people I could not forgive and she needed help and only to find out that I was the person amongst the people who had an answer of what she wanted. It was surprised because I answered her without thinking and from that day we started talking and I was so happy because I realised what has taken place.

Danny i have learning from pastor, if we forgive people that hurt us we have power in side of us. we have peace in our mine and our heart.and when we forgive we free from evil thougt . that thingking bad about that person who hurt you .so you can aply that for your life.

You have to really forgive this person ,because you yourself you are blocking your own blessings whilst that person is moving on .Or you can rather comfront the person tell them how you feel and that because of them you are struggling to forgive.because i was hurt many times and through talking to God through prayers I find myself at peace with this people ,because it’s sometimes easy to forgive ,but hard to forget .I pray that God help you find a solution and give u strength top decide in your heart that you really want to forgive this person ,

no 1 if you dont forgive: how are you going to fell when you have done something wrong to other person and you go to God.u said Father please forgive me do you think he will forgive you if you dont forgive anothers no ways he wont.cause even the bible says forgive then you too you will be forgiven.the main important thing we are so so blessed with our church we have lots of pastor to advice and pray for us .if you do that you wont regret you will overcome that cause am taking from experience i was full of anger ,pain inside of me expecially when i started to think about that is not easy but you need to pray.
