Bishop Macedo, good evening! I’m a businessman; I’m 26 years old and single. I came from another church where I used to talk a lot to my pastor. I’d ask him many questions but, in order not to displease me, he always said everything was fine. I asked him if it was a sin to masturbate and he said that it was not a sin as long as I did it once in a blue moon.
Bishop, I’ve been attending the UCKG for 1 year and I would like to know if this is true. Is it a sin to masturbate? I’d like to thank you in advance because I know that you will tell me the truth.

Paulo, the problem is that masturbation is more of an addiction. It’s not about the act per se, but the dirty thoughts that you have when you are masturbating – and that’s a sin! You should do some kind of physical activity or practise sports in order to minimise the pressure. Masturbation is not the root of the problem; it’s rather the lustful thoughts that make you have the desire to masturbate. Therefore, keep your mind clean and masturbation will not be a problem for you anymore.

I tell you the BISHOP is right i’ve had that problem since i was a child and its really a sin, ever since i started WORSHIPING AT THE UCKG IN JAMAICA i’ve overcome that problem and even though i’m not yet baptised nor married my girlfriend and i have put off sex until we get married and GOD has really helped us, sex is not a problem for us anymore and we dont love each other less, as a matter of fact we are now learning whats called self control, and i tell you before i turned to god i tried stopping on my own and after a while i was right back there, but with GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE its been three months now going into four so the bishop is right it is a sin because you visualize having sex with someone and remember JESUS said if any man has much as look at a woman and lust after her he has committed adultery. So let go my friend and let GOD. I’m so glad i’ve gotten over that problem, but it was’nt easy i had to fight, and there were times when i get tempted by the devil but as the BISHOP SAYS i rebuke satan and read my bible or pray or visit any of the UCKG WEBSITE AND CLEAR MY MIND. I’M GLAD TO SAY I’M FREE BECAUSE WHOM THE SON SETS FREE IS FREE INDEED.

This is one of the big problems that single christians throughout the world have faced nowadays. Because of this sin I might even say that I´ve lost almost everything i had and it´s been hard for to get everything back again. thoug I was frequently at the church, there was this sin in my life that from time to time I could caught myself involved with all kind of dirty things possible for a man and because of this My relationship with my girlfriend got to an end, I lost my job, my pride and almost everything I had; but now, thanks to God, I’m rising up again and ready to fight this evil and putting off all the thing that mighty make a weak christian again. Don´t play games with pornography, it´s been one of the greatest marriage breakers of our era.
